I bought Forza2 today on the recommendation of a bunch of friends. Usually i’d download and play the demo from XBL first but everytime I d/l’d it, I just couldn’t get past the menu screen.

After booting up and getting the latest update, I found I was getting the same problem with the full game. I’d see the intro and then press A (or start) to get going but for some reason the game couldn’t ’see’ my gamer profile. It would also lock the menu up, none of the controller buttons worked - with the exception of the XBL button (big X in the middle of the controller) which could take me back to the dash.

I eventually worked out what the problem was, I always leave my Guitar Hero II axe plugged into the USB ports at the front. As soon as I unplugged that, away we went.

Now, I work in software so I see bugs on a daily basis but this was one of the strangest - why is there a dependancy on the USB ports when I’m using a wireless controller?
